Haha. Sadly, R is just the lesser of the evils.

Well Christie is ahead 50-44 with 60% precincts reporting. Let's hope for the best and we don't get an "ACORN" surprise.

While the Republicans are celebrating wins in local state politics, Democrats picked up an extra House seats last night in New York-23 (the first Democratic congressman elected from that region since the late 1800s), and maintained their seat in California-10.

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell (R) defeats Creigh Deeds (D) New Jersey Governor: Chris Christie (R) defeats Incumbent Jon Corzine (D) New York Congressional District 23: Bill Owens (D) defeats Doug Hoffman (C) California Congressional District 10: John Garamendi (D) defeats David Harmer (R) New York Mayor: Incumbent Michael Bloomberg (I) defeats Bill Thompson (D) Detroit Mayor: Incumbent Dave Bing (D) defeats Tom Barrow Cincinnati Mayor: Incumbent Mark Mallory (D) defeats Brad Wenstrup (R) Pittsburgh Mayor: Incumbent Luke Ravenstahl (D) defeats Kevin Acklin (I) and Franco Dok Harris (I) Boston Mayor: Incumbent Thomas Menino (D) defeats Michael Flaherty Minneapolis Mayor: Incumbent R.T. Rybak (D) defeats 10 challengers St. Paul Mayor: Incumbent Chris Coleman (D) defeats Eva Ng (R) Last edited by Krimson X; 11-04-2009 at 01:22 PM. |

When will the media get off their Republican vs. Democrat drumbeat and realize that it's not about party lines, but about the issues and the INDIVIDUAL on the ballot?
Hilarious how CNN and FOX and everyone else is trying to tie Obama into these local elections. Hello-o-o-o....my vote for Christie in NJ was NOT a vote against Obama. It was a vote against Corzine only. And his raising of property taxes, sales taxes, and highway tolls at a time when NJ folks were badly hurting from the economic meltdown, and could least afford these hikes. And the fact that predominantly Democrat state elected a Republican governor is an indication of this specific discontent with Corzine. I am sure that NJ would still re-elect Obama by a landslide because that's a completely different type of vote and a completely different set of issues. But, of course, the media tries to tie everything together, even when there's nothing to be tied. |

My neighbor says all politicians are crooks. While that isn't true, a bunch of them if not all of them look like they are. Wish they would spend money like it was their own and try not to throw it away.
