It’s kind of amazing….

A ridiculous president can trash the country for eight years, and you won’t hear a peep from conservatives. But if a Democrat so much as jaywalks, they all go into fits.
Torture? A reckless war based on lies? Huge windfalls for the oil companies that the administration used to (and apparently always has) worked for? Violating the most basic freedoms? Taking a strong economy ("our 42nd") and tanking it (our 43rd)?
And you are worried about a couple thousand dollars in accounting errors!?

Furthermore, does it occur to anyone that maybe one reason so many nominees have problems with tax returns is that the tax code is so damned complicated that it is easy to make unintentional errors and oversights no matter how hard one tries to be honest and complete. Some of these nominees are symptomatic of millions of taxpayers who make inadvertent errors because not even the IRS understands the tax code. Note that if you ask for IRS help, they will not guarantee that their answer is correct. Or you can get diametrically opposed answers from different IRS “helpers.” What??!! If the IRS can’t give straight, guaranteed answers to tax questions, what does that say about the system. How many senators and congressmen have had tax boo-boos?

It is interesting that the Republican party had its best results in the states with the worst education (deep south) and the highest teenage pregnancy rate (traditional values) - thank Palin for that...

It's off topic but what the hell.....

1) As I said, VP is very limited in power.
2) Torture has been a valuable asset in limited usage. Continuation of paragraph is only your left-leaning opinion.
3) Very weak excuse for an economic "whiz" and other gov't employees screwing up their taxes. If you work, you can expect that you will have taxes. There is no way to get so confused on "codes" that you think you don't owe anything. H&R Block will do your taxes and guarantee their work + pay any fees/fines if they screw up.

Scott

PS-The T-shirt is not really a "personal attack."

You and many other conservatives on this forum claim not to like Palin. So can you then please explain as to why key conservative leaders/faces of the GOP support her? Is this just a political decoy to attract the backward Tea Party types or political suicide?
You were pointing out one end of the spectrum and I was just giving you the other...

I don't like Palin. I don't know why some people support her, but as Thunder said, there are just as many idiot democrats that are still supported by their fellow dems. It goes both ways for sure. I am not a hard core conservative. I am for gay marriage, care about the environment, believe in God, but rarely go to church or preach to others, am pro-choice and so on. I am probably way more in the center than you, I just don't happen to like Obama and you seem to want to lump everyone with that opinion into the far right catagory as Palin/Bush lovers.

I also don't think the t-shirt was a personal attack on you by any means.

If that were the case, this thread would not have reached 3 pages as of this posting. C'mon buddy! Don't take things "personally"! And besides, that is exactly what you are doing, right? Stirring the pot?

btw, welcome back to the "POLITICS FORUM".

Oh, Im just very curious: Why is it that you seem to be very obsessed with Sarah Palin? Why do you care if the Rep party would make her the Pres candidate for 2012? You're not a Republican, or are you? Are you afraid that if the Rep party does choose her that she would win in 2012? Personally I dont think she will win, so no need to be afraid. So u can sleep soundly tonight buddy.

Personal attack?

Trust me, you'll know it when there's a personal attack.

It is my OPINION that you are just stirring the pot. That is not a personal attack, it is an observation and opinion.

How is the GOP supporting Palin?

She's no longer in office, and as far as I've read, she's not being considered for any other office. What she is doing is promoting her book, which I highly doubt is being financed or supported by the RNC.

So where are you getting the idea that the GOP is officially supporting her? A minority few Republicans who like her does not mean that the majority does.

Ok "buddy", since you want to participate, can you answer the original OP? Is this just a political decoy to attract the backward Tea Party types or political suicide?

And since you don't like the current president, who would be your ideal candidate to be president. I know it's hard but it can't be a comic figure like Captain America or bringing Reagan back from the dead for a third term.

Whatever happened to "guilty by association". It's more than just a few GOP's that like her and the "silent" minority that doesn't is not doing anything to distance themselves from her either.

I like Newt, but again people would be saying he's about to die.
I like Mitt, but a Mormon has little chance at the presidency.
I like what I've seen of Jindhal (sp?), but would have to learn more about him.
I need to study more about Eric Cantor as well.
Heck, that guy from Louisiana who is the lone Republican to vote for the bill last week (though I definately don't want it) seems like a good guy. (Making a decision for the people he represents, not who lines his pockets or is worried about his party-mates not talking to him at lunch.)
