What is with Obama?

I don't understand what he is thing about:

1) He spends a large amount of political capital on a heath care bill and comes up short.

2) Now he is after investment banks. Wall Street has a lot connections and they will block him. He is driving the stock market down. JP Morgan & Goldman has paid back the funds they borrowed and they where not the problem. I voted for him but now think he will be a one term president.

It's not necessarily Obama it's the political system itself.
No matter what your ideals or how many good ideas you
have, there will always be self interest standing in the way,
or someone who fears that he won't get elected even if he does
what might be the right thing. Then theres always the folks
who have a different opinion, or the two party political power
struggle. It's an endless dog chasing the tail endeavor that will
end up nowhere.

I don't agree you need to pick your fight and fight only those that you have a chance to win.

The Health care is a major issue and might of been worth the struggle but reforming investment banks when the economy is still weak is not worth the effort.

The ability to innovate new finical products is one of the few things Americans still do well. What is good for Goldman & JP Morgan is good for America. Remember when we used to say that about GM, do we want to make our investment banks second or third tier as well?

Sorry; you can try all you want to pick your fights
but the cards are stacked against you before
you step into the ring. That's why it's called politics
It's a no win situation. You can't satisfy anyone.
It's the nature of the beast. Remember we're talking
about greed and corruption on every level including
lobbyist.

Few if any agreements will benefit the people and even
if it does the courts come in and overturn the will of
the people............

i'm amazed at how many people have changed their minds about him. I have been against his policies from day one and did not vote for him. I had a feeling that a bunch of people who supported him would eventually realize he isnt a good president for the united states

Sorry Barry I disagree,

The concept of going after investment banks at this time is a bad idea. In addtion considering he just loss the health care battle he should not get Wall Street unified against him.

Good politicians know how to compromise and get things done. Regan and Johnson are good examples of Presidents that accomplished political change. Jimmy Carter is a great example of a President that was very smart but accomplished little; we don't need another Jimmy Carter! The political system is far from perfect or efficient but its what we have and you have to work within the system.

The most recent approval ratings I saw for him were around 46-48%.

Hmmmm. That's about right. Half the people are with you
the other half are against you. Politics as usual...
