Another test of Obama's Honesty and Credibility

How hard would it to keep this promise and if he does not what is he hiding?

On the campaign trail President Obama said the "public will have five days to look at every bill that lands on my desk" before he signs it into law.

I remember this pledge

The bill has been posted since last Thursday. Three days before it was voted on by the House, and 6 days (including Thursday) before it was signed into law.

Two questions come to mind.

#1 What percentage of politicians that you know of has ever kept every campaign promise they have ever made?

#2 If he had lived up to your expectations regarding what he promised would that bit of honesty have convinced you to support the bill?

Anyone think it is suspect that they had to vote on Sun evening to pass it? Why couldn't you put it in play Monday morning and vote on Thursday morning? Hmm.

What's to suspect? People have been complaining that this has gone on for over a year. Why wait? Enough already......

The country has been on the verge of national health reform many times before. In the early 1900s, smaller proposals began to pave the way. In 1912, Theodore Roosevelt’s Bull Moose party campaigned on a platform calling for health insurance for industry; and as early as 1915, Progressive reformers ineffectively campaigned in eight states for a state-based system of compulsory health insurance. The prominent reformers of the 1920s, the Committee on the Costs of Medical Care, proposed group medicine and voluntary insurance— modest ideas, but enough to raise opposition, and the term “socialized medicine” was born.

Hmm Barry I don't know because it is one of the biggest pieces of legislation ever? Just thought maybe doing it during a work week and not shoving it into a Sunday evening would have been the smart play...wonder if the reaction is the same if Bush did it

Good question Re: bush. But who knows regarding the weekend
work. One never knows completely what politicians are up to
and that includes Obama. I wasn't aware there was a notable
negative reaction. Guess I missed it.
