Thunder, thank you for correcting me. I was using an old figure I had in my head and used it way out of context by mistake. I looked it up and the 10% refers to the number of black males in the US between 25-29. 10% of them were sentenced and in prison, during a 2005 survey. Totally different I realize but still sad. You are correct, there are 3MM people in prison in the US which is 1% of the population.
