Obama: This is the first step to eliminating private insurance
God bless the United Socialist States of America ![]() How will the Obama fan boys spin this one? Tough to do when Obama is saying it on video.

Obama has always wanted a single-payer health plan for the United States, this is nothing new. He does not like the concept of profit based insurance. In many ways, I'd agree. That putting health concerns with a price tag is a problem, however, I live in the real world. Innovation in medicine costs money. It isn't free. Look around the world, you'll find that 80%+ of all Nobel prizes given in medicine go to US citizens, why is that?
Should Aspirin in the hospital cost $140.00...of course not, but you don't fix that problem with what we're apparently doing. Do people get turned away for no coverage? If so, I'd like to know where. This isn't the case in Maryland. There is a placard on every hospital wall that states you can not be thrown out or not allowed care because of lack of insurance. Also, if you work for a small business, in most cases, no pre-existing condition keeps you from coverage. So please someone enlighten me as to what states do not apply these practices. I have a funny feeling, they will be the liberal states

Been there since Bush. Didn't take a Federal law. Certainly didn't take an overhaul of health care to do it.

OK, how do I spin this?
He said "I DO NOT think we are going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately...I can envision 15 to 20 years out" Duh, he won't be president in just over 2 years much less 20. So why would this concern anyone? He has an 'evil' plan, he has a little over two years to finish it, he can't. So what. Barney Frank supported the public option. So what. It isn't in the bill. "My commitment is to ensure we have a universal heathcare system for all Americans by the end of my first term" Nice words, just expensive to accomplish. "The public option is not your enemy" There is no public option in this bill. It did not get through. It could have. The democrats could have done this, but they didn't. Can you Obama haters explain why? "My hope is that we can set up a system that allows those who CAN'T go through an employer to access a federal system or a state pool of some sort" Sorta what just happened. We have a system in this country, you 'conservatives' can vote for a new congress and president in the next elections. I had to suffer 8 years of GWB, and you must suffer 4 years of BHO. That's life. For those of you who absolutely do not believe we are a HUGE socialist country and have been for a long time, elect a new congress and make sure they ELIMINATE social security. Then tell your retired parents that thier checks will stop and you will take care of them financially, just like the old days. Hell, you can even all move into the same house. Three generations under one roof, all supporting each other. What? Your parents didn't save enough for a comfortable retirement? Too bad. Mine either. Kinda not Obamas fault is it... Who said this?
"I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate (the) grave evils (of capitalism), namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals. In such an economy, the means of production are owned by society itself and are utilized in a planned fashion. A planned economy, which adjusts production to the needs of the community, would distribute the work to be done among all those able to work and would guarantee a livelihood to every man, woman, and child. The education of the individual, in addition to promoting his own innate abilities, would attempt to develop in him a sense of responsibility for his fellow-men in place of the glorification of power and success in our present society." |

If Einstein was alive today, or Martin Luther King Jr., they'd crap themselves at how society has deteriorated....IMO of course
