They aren't even hiding the fact that they are "redistributing the wealth" J.Edwards.
also just for fun; "when we were visiting barack's home country of Kenya" Michelle by Belle Obama (November 2008 at a gay lesbian transvestite etc... meeting)

Given the number of unemployed and under-employed people in 2009, that number does not surprise me. What are you going to tax? They have little to no income. The article also stated that a household of four making as much as $50,00 will owe no federal tax if thay have two children younger than 17 (because of a child tax credit). A vast majority of Americans fall in that category, which I consider to be the working poor.

We're in a very dark period in US politics right now, I don't think anyone has the answer for the fix. But I can tell you this, it isn't Socialism.
I would have thought that there would be those people who always vote Democrat no matter what and those who vote Republican no matter what. What really counts is those people in the middle ... we call them swinging voters down here. And those swinging voters may not be happy with Obama given his lack of real progress (even if they voted for him), but unless the Republicans can put up a viable alternative they will stick with Obama anyway.

Sticking with Obama due to lack of a viable Republican opponent is a very real concern, and if that happens, I hope that the Republicans take back the Senate and House to at least keep the lefties in check and maybe reverse some of the bullshit that has already passed.

I could not agree more. I am an independent who voted for Obama, considering I would not ever have a hand in putting an idiot like Palin in office. If the republicans decide that she is going to be a part of the ticket again this time around I will surely vote obama again. Then again new york will go Dem regardless. I wish we would trash the electoral college

How about a greater tax on inherited money. Do the Walton children really deserve a cut in their capital gains taxes?

You Commie, that money has already been taxed. On that logic, we should just get rid of all wills; just take EVERYTHING from EVERYONE that dies because their children don't deserve it. Everyone will start from 0. Ya, that would be fair. As an added bonus, the government will be able to spend that money as they see fit.

You're kidding, right?

Don't care about the Walton Clan...but for most middle to slightly upper middle familes, the chance to pass on some dough to our kids does not
need to have a "greater tax".

Remember any dough you or I have socked away has already been taxed
in one manner or another...and, IRAs et al, don't escape estate taxes, as
they are "outside" of most estates, tax specifically.

The freakin gov't gets their share while we work, when we retire and,
when we croak.

TR tried that, he wanted a 100% death tax...no dice. I'm sorta torn on the idea, we live in a country where "you're judged by the merit of your character" and not your skin tone or father, yet..we can pass on cash. Not sure on that one.

I do think for every Paris Hiton you can find a Trump kiddo who has done good with the funds they've received from their family. And it is absolutely not the role of the government to deem what is passed on as 'necessary'. That is communist.
