Stanley McChrystal at risk of losing his job
Gen. Stanley McChrystal is prepared to submit his resignation at a meeting with Obama on Wednesday at the White House, two military officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. Obama summoned McChrystal to explain disparaging comments about his commander in chief and Obama's top aides. The meeting was a last-ditch moment for the general once considered the war's brightest hope. US general in Afghan war at risk of losing his job - Yahoo! He is in it deep for sure. But the general isn't the only one who openly disrespects the president and the clowns in the administration. Many think the president is weak, but that isn't news.

Well T-365 till his retirement and book deal, followed by Fox Analyst job.
Ask yourself this, why would Petraeus want the job back? Man, go out on top. Just rolling the dice on failure. Rule one as a commanding officer, don't mock the President publicly.

I understand that the president and his administration questioned the military and did not give them a blank check like the previous administration. I am sure the generals did not like this but I don't think it means that the president is weak.

Besides, there is always this:
888. ART. 88. CONTEMPT TOWARD OFFICIALS Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct. |

Why? He probably didn't 'believe' in what he was asked to do.
Maybe he'll retire and write a book? |

There are a host of other reasons why growing numbers of people think the president is weak. The general held him in low esteem and likey thought he was weak as a leader, not necessarily because of one single decision or non decision but more for a body of work or non work.

It does not matter what the generals think of the president, they are not to publicly question him, or his orders. Regular US citizens can, military cannot.
