Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg Meet???

Hey Everyone! I wanted to know if anyone was interested in meeting up in Pigeon Forge, TN sometime. I live in the area and it's within a day's drive for the entire East Coast from New York to Florida. I have seen many X5's & X3's from out of town so maybe a few of us could get together here sometime.

Here's links to the area.

http://www.gatlinburg.com

I also own a vacation rental company and could put together a pretty sweet deal for X5world members.

Just wanted to see if anyone is interested.

I'm in Waynesville, NC on the eastern side of the Mtns...
I could do a day trip.

Other than motels there, not certain of the "attraction"
of PF or G?

Maybe a half day of haulingazz around some of the fine
2 lane black tops as opposed to watching tourists
walk around in Gburg?

Not really into the "tourist" stuff either, but the kids love it. The real attraction is the national park. 500,000+ acres of unspoiled natural beauty.

I swear I'm going to make it to one of these meets - this one's just a few hours drive up I26 from Charleston,SC - now if I am only in SC when it happens - Seems I'm always in the right place at the wrong time, or the wrong place at the right time - The Gods (and the rest of you?!?) have been conspiring against me - I should be in SC for a long stay in afew months.

The 2 meets I've made have been mostly "kidless"...

We run the BRPkway and Rt 441 through GSMNP regularly,
but on any summer/fall weekend, it is a parking lot
in terms of casual driving,imo.

WebCam at LookRock with the ubiquitous summer haze:

GSMNP Links:

Edit: if the map link came through ok, I live at #1 and the Park
is just to my west; the big green shaded area with G'Burg on the
western edge of SMNP:

http://maps.yahoo.com/beta/#mvt=m&tp...5.478565&mag=9

Might be a good spot for a fallish meet, though...if we can survive
the hordes of RVs, campers and leaf peepers.

I'm bringing this one back to life...seemed like the fall would be an awesome time to meet. Weather in the mid to upper 70's, a run through the national park to see the fall colors, and lots of things to do! Dollywood, Ripley's Aquarium, Wonderworks, trout fishing, hiking & hanging out with some fellow X5 owners. Any takers?

not to mention the apple cider usually available then - Depends on football weekends. The nice thing about going to a "small" college is being able to buy season tickets and have a parking spot next to the stadium. Yeah, yeah, with my traveling, I'm lucky to see 3 home games (vs 6), but in the past it was only 1 vs 6. I'd still like to be there. Just a matter of when.
