Ok Guys and Girls I need some help with LA! Fingers crossed going to book tickets and hotel tomorrow morning.

We are coming to the states for 12 days this is what I have planned if anyone can see any problems with my plans please tell me as I have no idea of distances, and if I am doing anything real stupid.

What I have planned so far

Fly into LAX 26th OCT at 2pm ish
Was thinking of staying at Marriott Downtown LA for that night so can have a look around LA. Will I need a car or is parking a problem ? I think hotel runs a shuttle back and forth to airport.

If answer to the above is don’t get car pick car up Friday AM then drive to palm springs. Is it better to get car from airport or downtown ? i.e. if we pick up car at airport is it easier to get to palm springs from there?

Hopefully get to palm springs to meet up with you guys on Friday evening if I don’t get to lost on the way LOL thinking of staying in Best western palm springs anyone had any experiences with this hotel and how far is this from where West Fest is?

I was thinking of staying in palm springs for a total of 5 days is there enough stuff to do there or should I head back to LA. We don’t mind lazing around the pool for most of this time I take it the weather will be hotter in PS than LA ?

Then back to LA for the next 6 days again staying at the Marriott. Again will be properly answered in the first question do I still need the hire car or can I get around LA on public transport? Is it safe to walk around the tourist part of LA ? I would like to go to 6 theme flags Park is there organised couches that go there.
