Just a comment or two

Congratz to all that went and to Juan for hosting. This board (and the ones before it) has shown the ability to reach out and make the board a means and not just an end. It takes special people to make that happen and I'm happy to see that so many out there are carrying the tradition onward.

For the new guys, I'm one of the older, original X5 crew members and I hosted a number of East Meets. I still lurk here and on occassion I might add my two cents, but it has been some time since I've had an X5 and so, my daily diet of X5 threads has diminished. What has not lessened is the joy I get from reading about events like Juan's gig where people are getting together, forming great friendships and making the BMW X5 something more than the sum of its parts.

Trex,

I could not have said it better. Without sounding too corny, I feel that I made some great friendships this past weekend -- friendships that I hope will last past the ownership of a car. We had a wonderful time with some warm, careing, wonderful folks, and I can't wait to do this all over again. (Looks like JV is stepping up to the plate. I can be put right back on deck, really. I had a blast, and would love to host it again.)

Even if you don't own an X5, anymore, you should try to make it to DC if/when JV organizes the next meet. Would love to finally meet you!

So great to hear from you again! As you know, I had planned to attend your gig this past summer, but I had that whole cancer thing to deal with.

Juan

Trex!

It's been a long time... Didn't get the chance to be at the last meet in your place and felt bad not being there...

Are you still in contact with Palmnut? I haven't heard from him for a while...

Drex - I think the 1100 S could make it down to D.C., don't you?

Eugene - I haven't heard from PalmNut since last Spring.

Just for old tymes sake, I 'll fake the new guys out one of these days and put up a sale thread for CF valve caps or something.

Or... a left-handed monkey wrench?
