First issue with the E60

CEO starts the 530i and the brake pad fault light comes on. It dissappears and on come the DSC light. So of course I doubted her because she described it differently. So this afternoon I got in drove down the hill and turned around to go back to the house and Bam both of those warning lights came on. The breake pad warning light went out but the DSC is still on. So off to East Bay BMW on Wednsday. Wonder what electronic ghost is messing around inside the system?:dunno:

did you have your steering angle sensor replace yet? There is a bulletin out for all 5er's and 6er's. Jim/Alan and the guys will take care of you.

Went in to Eastbay BMW this morning and they did indeed find that we needed the part. This was our first warranty issue and it was a pleasant experience. It's on order. Thanks for the info.

I will. Have to wait till the part comes in for the 5 series though and I know i'll be over the hill before then. May even splurge and have lunch at Wente tomorrow. EBBMW Even offered a courtesy car. Surprised by that. We'll see

that's why they are the #1 rated dealer in service in Norcal.

Maybe; but they had us sign a paper that said we understand that they would not provide a loaner car for repairs (except major service). Concord never did that and always provided a car. That's why said I'll see. As far as being the #1 rated dealer in service in Norcal, to be honest what i have heard is not good regarding the dealership in particular. Consistantly the comments over and over again have not been favorable. I use to take my 7 series in for oil service but never any repairs so i have to admit as of yet i don't have any first hand knowledge about their service so I'm going in with an open mind.

Why did we buy there? #1 We had been in there so much we finally got to know one of the salesmen (Ulysses) and he cut us a decent deal. #2 we are over the hill so much it was for the sake of convienence for service. In any event I am optimistic about the relationship.

Why wouldn't they provide a loaner car? I always get one at BMW OF SD even if it's day work?

Quicksilver 07-06-2006 12:56 PM

Can't answer that. That's they way they do their thing I guess
