Rumor has it that the E92 M3 will have DSG...
 

Hmmm, there has been a rumor floating around the web that when BMW showcases the new M3 in Geneva, it will introduce DSG (dual clutch system) instead of SMG.

If they fine-tune it for speed and smoothness, it will definitely be an improvement over SMG.

Of course, BMW should also have a 6-speed manual available for the M3 as well.

We all know it will be a V8 with around 420-hp, but how heavy will be the new M3 be??

I guess we'll find out next week!

There will be different HP for regular and CSL version as well as placement of rear license plate, diffuser, carbon-fiber roof, etc. Pics are coming on Tuesday.;)

They better have the licence plate on the trunklid....it looks so much better there....

Lets just hope that with a manual tranny they don't do someting like they did with the current M5 in the 6speed manual.

Is the CSL coming out at the same time as the regular M3. If they both come out at the same time im definately getting the CSL.
I hope they dont get rid of the 7 speed SMG for the DSG. I dont like DSG for a car like and M3. If they only offer DSG and not SMG I will get the 6 speed manual.
So why would the rear diffuser and carbon roof be different?
Is europe getting something different?

CSL is coming later but that can still change. SMG is gooone. US may not have rear diffuser. Carbon roof is for CSL version. More info here .

WTF. SMG is gone. Am I the only person that likes SMG?

So what trannies will be offered in place of the smg. Also are the M^ and M5 dropping SMG too?

So why are we not getting that rear diffuser? So far every Mcar from 2000 on has had the same front and rear diffusers in all countries. Why the change? Even the current M5/6 all have the same exteriors all over the world. Doesnt make sense.

That sucks that the carbon roof is only for CSL. Is it to keep cost down?

So are you saying a CSL is definately coming to the states but a year or so later
