X6 will get the bi-turbo V8 for regular and next gen V10 for X6 M.

I wished the //M and V8 weren't so close to each other. Maybe the //M badge above the V8. Or just ditch the V8 badge.

I wanna hear how it sounds!!!

Sorry if I sound old fashioned, but I'll still take a 3-pedal. This time BMW didnt screw around with the 6MT and DSC like they did with the M5.

SANguru 03-23-2007 03:02 AM

it does... pretty typical.

the problem is it doesn't make any significant torque until 6100 rpm. peaky engine once again.. It's not similar to the 335i.. the twin turbo motor makes ~300lbs of torque at a little under 2000rpm which is pretty much off idle so it will have really good power up top again but you gotta wring it to get any power on the street.. great for track but that's about it...

KirkX5M, the 400 NM torque converts to 295 lb/ft of torque. So the torque is similar to the 335i, but about 90 lb/ft shy of the M5/M6 V10 engine....Remember, the M3 engine has 2 cylinder and about 1 liter less than the M5 V10 engine.
