Looks awkward with all those lines/cracks. My .02..

I wanted one until I saw there was no trunk space with the roof down (and I mean NO SPACE) so I ordered an M Roadster instead. Surprisingly, I can fit my golf bag and a suitcase in the roadster and not in the new 3 vert. IMHO, the new 3 vert is a bad design on BMW'S part, it just doesn't make any sense. They should have kept the soft top as an option.

Anyone know why BMW decided on a hardtop convertible instead of a soft top?

I see them all over in So Cal, the roof crease looks wierd to me

yah agreed!!! plus the shark fin on the trunk looks REALLY odd to me!!!!

What shark fin on the trunk? I don't see it...

Not all have it. I guess it comes with Nav.

Demand from consumers showed that they wanted hardtop. BMW made a light weight hardtop as compared to competition so as not to compromise performance.

I don't think the creases look that bad. You can't have no creases+hardtop+BMW performance and handling+room in trunk. Compromises: rather have creases for lightweight hardtop and not compromise handling.

Have you driven one with hardtop?

Yes I have, drove one at the Ultimate Drive. Inside looked okay, outside the difference in appearance was obvious.
