dayummmm...you beat me to it....if your car buying decision is based on how you are perceived when you pull up to your country club....you ARE a douche. |
:iagree:

+1. Unfortunately, there are many people out there that buy a luxury car for the brand only.
I know one such person. He's a terrible driver, has a snotty attitude, and likes BMW for the name. Whenever I get in his X5 or 325i, I put much faith in the passive safety devices present in the vehicle. Like side curtain airbags for instance, because he never checks for blind spots. On a ride to Tysons and back, he nearly changed lanes into someone else about 5 times, activated DSC going too fast around a corner, and the energy consumption meter was pinned to the far side of 8 mpg. They never wash their own cars. The stereo is turned up too loud. (I keep this friend mostly because he makes me look benign by comparison  ) |
I think you missed my point, I'm not saying buy a car to impress people, I'm saying think about the situations you are going to be in to see which car is more appropriate. I get heat pulling up in the 4.8 due to the std. exhaust system, and for the record I am not a flashy person and I bought my cars for me.

aaah the image

As others have said, the two are completely different cars. I'm a huge fan of the 550. The RS4 seems small and less comfortable to me.
I also prefer the way the BMW drives. The Audi just doesn't feel as connected to the road. Feel free to PM or email me any questions about the 550. |
never was a fan of audi i hv seen a lot of older model audi and the sound of them idling makes me think of them as a fiat

"boy-racer"????? We're talking about an RS4, not a Civic Si  I guess since the RS4 is an M3 competitor, than the M3 must be a boy-racer bmw.
|
why not go with a M5? its more refined than the RS4, but you still get the performance you want.
people are saying that the RS4 is a better comparison with the M3 but that only depends what you are looking for... RS4=sport sedan.... and M3=coupe i know that i wouldn't want to cram my clients or golf buddies in the back of the M3 lol you have to account for the depreciation rate in an Audi is higher than a BMW |
