Quick, it does to have to deal with money when you are discussing taxing harder worker more to benefit lesser valued workers. If you wanted to be just, the only federal tax would be a federal sales tax.

Under Obama and the Democrats that would be true. However, taxes are designed to pave roads, pay for schools and federal and local government infrastructure. Taxes are not meant for Charity and Charity should be up to individuals and the many non-profit organizations in business to distribute and spend the charitable dollars.

I think that the wealthier should be taxed at a progressive tax rate, ie not a flat tax. You seem to be suggesting that I am asking for tax increases, as opposed to defending aspects of the current taxation systems. You are perhaps promoting a flat tax, like many eastern European countries? How workable is that?

When did force enter into the discussion? I didn't know that charity (my example) was a forced activity, I sort of thought the whole voluntary aspect was what defined it as charity.

OK maybe you missed the idea here. Obama wants to selectively increase taxes and then spend those funds on charity efforts. Hence the government FORCING you (as you'd go to jail if you don't pay).
