20" Bridgestone Duelers H/T Non RFT

Do any of my fellow Aussies know where to get Bridgestone Dueler H/T 315/35/20 non-RFT in Sydney?

I've been advised by a Bridgestone Tyre Centre that the 315/35/20 non-RFT isn't sold in Australia (only the RFTs). Yet you can get both RFTs and non-RFTs for the 275/40/20. I used to see non-RFTs in that size frequently sold in eBay, but none are for sale at the moment.

I'm avoiding RFTs due to issues of repairing them (even for simple nail punctures). I wan't to avoid the drama I had on the Dueler H/T RFTs now.

The drama I had was the lack of people wanting to fix them. The tyres were only 8 months old when I got a nail puncture on one of the rear tyres. The nail was clearly visible and located almost in the middle of the tyre. I thought, that's a simple fix. But to my amazement, after ringing countless tyre centres, not a single one would fix it. I was instead advised that I needed to replace it with a new one. WFT???!!!!

Anyway, as I used to 4wd regularly, one of the must have tools when going off-road is a tyre puncture kit. So I ramaged through my old 4wd gear and found my tyre puncture kit and did a DIY fix. It was fixed in less than 20 minutes. That was nearly 4 years ago, and I've never had an issue since.

So now it's time to replace my set and I'm going to avoid RFTs at all cost. Plus our US friends in this forum say, you get a better ride with non-RFTs.

So any assistance in sourcing them locally would be appreciated.

Have you looked at importing them, see if Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels have them. I have done this as have a few others without problem, and even after freight it is still cheaper on the up-market tyres.

Make sure your search is not limited to the tyre size, profile and width. Many non rft's will not have the load and speed rating you require eg minimum rear 110w and 106w front. Went through the non run flat exercise and had no choice but to stay with them. Fortunatly haven't had a puncture!

Hi Mate,

I bought two Duelers, 315/35R20's non-runflat, from Advance Tyres in Richmond, Victoria. Can't remember the price, but I think it was OK. I know they're not in Sydney, but they'd ship to you for not too many $ I think. They sell a lot of stuff on fleabay and are set up for shipping...

Cheers,
Scott.
