Rob, there's no such thing as "OEM key". BMW holds exclusive right to their key fob (that's why it's $600+), but it couldn't stop the Chinese to copy the technology.
Yep, I understand that, why I referred the site was it would not a chinese rubbish key, that could actually be able to be programmed correctly. I have heard so many instances people buy cheap keys and then cant get it programmed or they simply dont work.

I dont agree with the $600+ from BMW and I dont agree with buying Chinese rubbish, but personally, for something like the key I would prefer going to BMW or a BMW parts supplier.

One other thing.

Isnt it hard to find someone to cut the key as well? I am sure I have read that a lot of these key cutting facilities dont do them..
