TMC in Australia
I assum the BM54 radio module was delivered eventually in later build E53s so they had an AUX in option? My X5 has a C23 radio and i'm upgrading to 16:9 screen and MK4 Nav and im just wondering if i should just go the whole hog and get a full kit from Germany and replace the Radio and looms while im at it.... Im sure that loom will be a mission to swap out though!!!! If there was no TMC in australia though, it may not be worth while as i am goign to get a Dension unit for my iPod and that takes care of the aux in if i really need it.

TMC does not work in Australia. Apparently BMW didnt /wouldnt pay the TMC licence costs at the time.
However, the later model BMW's in Australia, Ford and Holden, it does work but Im not sure it is TMC. I think it is something else. The above information I remember reading somewhere as I tried for months to try and get it to work. I have a NAV 16:9 MK4 and BM radio unit. I retrofitted mine unit, and installed the new loom as well.. It was easy following the tutorial, just time consuming. I did it in over a weekend, about 8 hours all up.
