Any Aussies offloaded their X5 lately?

Looks like its time to move on soon, has anyone offloaded an E53 lately? Just wondering what actual values are like, ease or pain of selling privately. Also if you traded what did you get offered?

Red book quotes mid $20k for trade in and high $20k to low $30k for private sale.

Cheers

What year? Early ones are less than $20k easily now, especially the 4.4 due to it being thirsty
I would say the late models are the only ones to fetch close to $30k and up...
Deisels always seem to get a but more

Your X5 sounds nice -2006 diesel like mine, why is it time to move on? Have you considered the new F15 X5 coming out later this year?

Traded X5

Yes I traded my 05 diesel, 95 ks in Jan for $ 31gs, for business reasons only. Also I was advised by a friend in the industry, at 10 years of age vehicles are sold without a warranty, so if I waited too much longer the vehicle would drop in value dramatically. True or not it was the right time. As I was after a high performance SAV I couldn't go past the SRT8, no it's not quite as refined as an M series, but it excites me every time I hit the starter, would buy one of these brutes again in a breath. Cheers

@huntertec: $31k is a good figure for trade in, thanks I will keep it in mind.

@deepblonde: I am really wanting a 911 GT3 hence my wish to move on, the X5 has been the best car I've ever owned otherwise!!

A friend of mine was looking recently for a post facelift E53 diesel.
The price range seems to be around 25K for the not so good ones to about 30-33K for the better ones.
There is still the odd dreamer out there asking high 30’s or even low 40’s but for a well optioned good example with service history, low 30’s is pretty much on the money for private sales, for the diesel that is.
