Diesel Performance Chip

I have been reading some threads on diesel performance chips on this site and other sites but no real recent ones. Has anyone recently fitted a chip to a 2006 E53 diesel .ie what brand have you used and what were/are your thoughts on it.Was it worth the money,there are many cheap units available starting at about $150 along with some more expensive units going up to about $1500. Even though the vehicle has good power standard a little bit more never goes astray.We do quite a bit of towing with our vehicle as well. Thanks .

Have you called berrima diesel?
Heard plenty on people rave about plug and play box's, mainly from Italy, on diesel patrols but I would prefer a something with a bit more r&d behind and at least being able to speak to someone over the phone if you need assistance.

have you considered DTUK? do a search, plenty of reviews and positive comments. They are UK based company specialise in diesel cars like Audi, BMW, VW etc.

How did you find yours powerwise and for torque ? do you think the increase was as much as they claim for both figures ?
I have checked with the supplier and the E70 is incompatible with the E53 otherwise I would have bought yours .

a lot more torques at lower rev and the acceleration is quicker, definitely feels the differences. haven't put the car on dyno, so not cannot confirm the figures claim.

i'm on map 2, in zero% boost - pretty happy with it so far.

you can send it the unit back to DTUK to Andrew for a reprogram, happy to ask him about the cost of changing the program from E70 to E53.

I would be interested in the costing to re-progam but by the time I add the initial cost,postage,re-program and return postage it may be cheaper for me to buy one outright from them ?

yes, probably not cost effective.

have you considered re-map? eg. bluefin, superchip etc.
