No need. Straight swap, plugs the same.

Sorry to ask you, could you take a picture of the back of the module and post it? Does the digital module still need antenna leads?

It looks exactly the same as what you've got and yes you do need antenna.

This is the analogue one with same size white and blue plug.

The Hybrid one below seems to be different and the blue plug is bigger, is this what your digital tuner looks like?

This is the only kind of digital tuner i find on ebay, if this is not what it looks like could you post a link of it.

OK, replying to a fairly old thread, but you have posted two different types of VM. The one in the small photo is the VM that is for ibus cars, the ones in the larger photo are for MOST bus cars (the ones with i-drive). They are NOT interchangeable.

The VM's are completely plug'n'play swappable, so long as you replace like for like. So an analogue ibus VM can be replaced directly by a Hybrid ibus VM - the plugs are identical and so are the dimensions. They don't need any coding, unless you want to enable TV-in-motion in which case you can do it by an adapter lead or by software.

I need to swap my Analogue tuner out for a digital one. Best sources and how much should I be looking to pay?

I really wouldn't bother mate the signal is so sketchy for what you'll pay you can get all sorts of other stuff/options. Too much money for no improvement. I got mine off fleabay.

I think you must have a problem as I have about 30 digital channels on mine at present. As more areas switchover the digital transmitter power will be steadily increased but it is not designed for vehicular use so there will always be some issues. Our area has just switched but I have not retuned either car yet.

As to finding a module then it really depends upon how much you want to spend. Just make sure it has the UK DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting - Terrestrial) spec. Some earlier modules have a limited channel capability in the same way as early Freeview boxes could only store a limited number of channels. Later ones can hold around 100, some a lot more.

Have you tried putting the last 7 characters of your VIN into Realoem to see what comes up? It's a good place to start if you're after OEM parts.
