I was able to replace the chain without removing the tc. 3.0 might be a little different with a 4.4 bec the exhaust pipes were not in the way.

The bearing I was talking about is the one beside #7. I think its suppose to stay on #14 when u take the axle out...

Its a 2002 x5 3.0 125K miles. What bothers me is that it has a diffrent sounding crank when I start it. It sounds like the starter is working but the engine is not turning. Is that possible?

Wont start but cranking.

I started my car last tuesday and turned it off after 1 minute. Wednesday morning it cranks with a different sound but wont start. Am I looking at a big problem? Pls. HELP!
