Thanks for the info in this thread. Had P0238, P0401, and P0069 faults and the car going into limp mode. Replaced part 13627792260 (while in the dealers parking lot!) and all is well. Easy job....

I pulled the tank out and found that the low level sensor (bottom of tank) had 10k ohms resistance across the leads, but the high level sensor (top of tank) was an open circuit (infinite resistance)...

Yes, happened a few times years ago. Mine is a 2009 X5 35d as well. It was under warranty at the time and the dealer couldn't reproduce the problem (go figure). No issues since.

You could send a sample of the oil to Blackstone...

You could send a sample of the oil to Blackstone Labs for analysis. They will tell you if the oil condition is normal or not, and more about the health of your engine.

And... mine failed (passive tank level sensor). When the tank is full I get no CEL. When the tank is low I get a CEL.

Member PIXLFIX over on Bimmerfest repaired their failed active tank level...

I put akebono pads on my E70 and have no issues with dust. Drove it round trip from Minneapolis to New Orleans last winter and the wheels were clean when we got home.

The light probably failed due to water leaking into the light through the old adhesive based seal, corroding the connections. Ask me how I know. You'll want to buy a new gasket seal while you're at...

I had the first mats in your post, but didn't like them in winter because salt/water easily ran off and into the carpet, especially around the accelerator pedal. I switched to WeatherTech.
