I believe if you unplug the MAF it reverts back...
I believe if you unplug the MAF it reverts back to throttle body operation with normal valve lift. The same way unplugging the VANOS solenoids do. I'll bet it's a carbon buildup issue. Run shet out...

BTWDS - if your two pipes are side by side you only have single exhaust with a flapper controlling the 2nd outlet and you need to pull your throttle body to see how much oil is pooled in your intake.
