On first gen E53 possible just remove the front...

On first gen E53 possible just remove the front half shafts or front drive shaft and you will have 2wd, my buddy have done that several times on his X5 3.0d with no issues. :dunno:

With adjustable links possible to drop it while not driving or driving under 80kmh, after 80kmh its automatically will stands in normal height. You edit parameters via CAN, but still will not be so...

There is some of them for sale with integrated chip so should work for him, I have had same on my previous E53, works fine, no errors on the dash :dunno:
