My 70,000 miles plus X5 4.4 has just developed a noise when the engine is on. The sound is a splitting noise which changes with the revs increased. Checked the fan and belts but they both seem ok....

You will need to confirm left or right / in or outer unit as they are all different and can not be interchanged.

Seems daily now that my kick starter just will not stop. Put in the key, turn it on and you can hear the kick just rolling on. Neither will the engine fire up nor it stop for about 30 to 60 seconds...
