My experience with the FSR is that once it's gone all kinds of electronic faults show up most of which are unpredictable. I took out fuse #64 to stop the blower running but the battery still drained....

Not sure how this could be the battery but good for you if you've fixed the problem. I had similar symptoms and found it was the MAF, it had been left loose during a smog test and caused stalling....
