I didn't get the CD changer. I don't quite remember, but I think I hooked up the ipod with the car on. But I leave the ipod plugged in all the time. Not sure if that would make any difference.

I've had my X5 (Aug. 07 build) for 2 weeks now and no problems with ipod dropping to FM. In fact, I rarely listen to FM anymore. AM for news and talk radio and iPod for music. It's a great set up.

Although this poll is not exactly scientific, it seems people on this forum favor the 4.8i 2 to 1. While the number of 3.0s delivered by BMW thus far favors the 3.0 2 to 1. Not sure what it says...
