Sport Steering wheel

I have a 2000 540! with the sport package, I like the M wheel which is on the car and would like to know 2000 540 wheel could be retro fitted to a 2001 X 5 3.0? The X5 does not have the sport package...

I have 2001 X5 3.0 And about to add a trailor hitch, wanted to make sure that all x5's have a wiring harnes(plug) and some type of instructions. Thank you in advance for your help.
