If it's doing it frequently enough, or it won't boot at all - try holding the eject button down and see if it boots then?

Missing a 12v ?
Excellent - I'm glad somebody recognised this problem. When you say I'm missing one of the 12v I presume you mean there are more than one power feeds?

Another Blank Screen problem
I have an OEM Navigation system (Mk4) which was working until we had some flat battery trouble. Now we have a blank screen.
From what I hear the old Mk3 firmware's were susceptible to voltage spikes...
