I meant to post results back here sooner. I finally dug out the manual (gaaakk!) and located the fuse for the blower fan (50 amp) and pulled it out. The X5 sat for two weeks while I was out of town...

Looks like I got my answer off another thread......

Looks like I got my answer off another thread... the radio head unit needs to be upgraded also to see ID3 tags. Grrrr.

I have the same vehicle and would love to add an MP3 CD changer. I am considering the factory unit though. Does the head unit display ID3 tags of MP3 disks?
