Strange, My 2005 non dsp diesel has a tweater in the upper door / window frame area so a total of 8 speakers.

Compared to our other x5 which is a 2007 with the upgraded audio, the sound is muddy...

Yeah your right there doesn't seem to be an alpine specific bezel for the x5, but i don't think there alpine bezel would work with the latest 7" media manager anyway because it has to flip down.

Yeah the do, its in the same place as the ones...

Yeah the do, its in the same place as the ones with dsp, just has one connector instead of the 3 that the dsp's have coming out.
