Should be easier this time now that I know you can remove the cabin air filter housing.

I know they should go in dry and use ...

Question for auto transmission gurus.

My '01 4.4i 135,000 mi X5 shudders during light load acceleration.
It will not shudder much at all under hard acceleration.

I though it could be a worn torque converter or trans fluid having...

Going for 3rd attempt at VC gaskets on M62.

The PO had them replaced shortly before I bought the car, but 6 months later they were wet. I replaced them again with new gaskets and grommets taking...

It has mostly happened with warm starts, which is why I have been a bit skeptical about the ignition switch. Pressure Regulator makes sense....

Another crank, no start story.

I have what sounds like a fairly common intermittent issue of strong crank/no start with my '01 E53 4.4i (about 10 times in 2 years, but getting a bit more frequent).
It will always start right away...

I finally got around to cleaning the engine and putting UV dye in the oil to verify.
Look like it is the seal.
I found a shop with the tools, will do it...

Yeah, I'd normally do that if the engine were out of the car.
Don't see how I'd get a gun in there without removing the radiator, which I'd like to avoid. Also, heard even most guns have a hard time...

M62 Crank Securing Tool / Front Main Seal

Well,
After a few ugly spots in my driveway, I see my front main seal is leaking.
Looks like that crank bolt is on with 300 ft/lbs of German torque and the only way to remove it is with a crank...
