Which sensor did you replace?? There are 4 wheel sensors. Did you get the X scanned? Cheaper to get the X scanned instead of throwing parts at the problem. A bad transfer case actuator motor/gear could also cause the trifecta.

Thanks Ricky Bobby!
UpAllNight: Yes had it at a shop and they wanted WAY TOO $$$ to send off the module to repair. They scan coded it and replaced the brake pressure switch... |

Like I said before you need to get the X scanned so that you will know what the problems are. If you don't know of a honest reliable indy, you will need to get some software so that you can scan the X yourself, and post the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) so that people on this forum can help you.
I used Carsoft 6.5 when I had my E34 but have moved on to BMW Scanner 1.4. There are other software available, but I find that BMW Scanner 1.4 is the easiest to install and to get up and running. Like I have posted on this forum before if you're not a DIYer and you don't have a warranty on the X, a used X is not the right SUV for you.

Do you know for sure the problem is the ABS module?

Well the ABS module (Bosch 5.7) is a common weak point over the age of the module, assuming the 4 wheel sensors are good if the module is still throwing random errors it probably needs to be rebuilt.
At $95 it is almost a preventative thing since most of us with the Bosch 5.7 will experience the random trifecta due to the module, on our vehicles.

with upallnight, get it scanned before replacing anything. Reading the codes will save you time and money. The ABS module does not have a predictable life cycle so I don't consider it necessary to replace it unless it has failed.

I have a few questions, I have the trifecta on my 01 X5 3.0 along with a exhaust camshaft position sensor that appeared about the same time. I've been reading the post about the wheel sensors and the abs module being the main faulty parts. If I replace my module with one from the link provided above, I need to have the X recoded, correct? If I purchase the BMW scanner 1.4 can I code it myself?
