My M5 goes through a quart of $16 BMW oil every 1,000 miles. I stopped asking for the top -off after 3,000 miles (now has 30K) because getting oil was like pulling teeth........and I'm a dentist....

Thanks for confirming that. I initially thought it was a manufacturing defect since only one mesh is open and all the other ones are closed. Seems to me more airflow would be better.
