Help with vacuum line please.

Hi guys,

My X5 has a vacuum line disconnected on the back of the engine. I found it using the shop vac method, and I can just touch it with my finger tips, but the darned line won't move.

Good thread. I came here because my X5 is running 215 on the highway and a bit warmer around town. On other cars, I'd panic, but this seems normal?????

Ok I think I understand. I had the shaft out when I rebuilt my transmission, and since we don't need awd, I wondered what would happen if I left it out.

Would there be any issues? Would the transfer case make more noise since the chain...

OK thanks Bob. I was foolishly hoping that I could buy one component and be done with it.

Great information. My wifes X5 just gave a low coolant message, and the only leak I can see is that switch. Should be too hard, apart from scraped knuckles, I hope.
