Anybody replace the Water Valve on their X5?

If I set the AC on and put it to feet, I'm getting piping hot air on the drivers side and frigid cold air from the passenger side. I was told that replacing the water valve will fix the problem. ...

These are 17" BMW OEM Rims with Dunlop WT M2 winter tires. This set was used one winter, I'm moving to Seattle so I don't need winter tires anymore.

I have a complete set of 20" OEM Rims and Tires off a 2003 4.6 X5. The rims have no scratches, the tires have about 12k miles on them.
