You may want to check your catalytic converter. I had a problem with misfires for about 2 years went through coil packs, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets. Changed out cats and problem solved.

Replace valve cover gaskets. X5 2001, 4.4L with 126,00. Car was leaking oil not too bad. Did an oil change, car started leaking oil like a sive. Replaced valve cover gaskets, no leaks so far.

The fuse is in an awarkward place, I think its behind the glove compartment, not in it. It's a large 50Amp fuse. if fuse is good. Check and see if cooling fan is working by putting 12v on fan.
