The shade seems fine - it opens and closes without any problems, and whether it's open or closed doesn't have any effect on the rattle. But it's definitely worth a closer look.

I don't think it's the glass. I can press on it with quite a bit of pressure with my hand and it doesn't make a difference. If the glass were rattling, that should stop it. It's coming from somewhere...
