It looks to be a more domestic motor- oriented oil with the specs it is designed to meet.

I'd look for something more euro - oriented.

What I remember looking into this many years ago is it was bonded somehow, and not easy to transfer.

I think I came across a thread where someone used aftermarket elements instead.

I've done a variant of this, citric acid flushes. I dont remember doing it on any BMW's yet though, more on Mercedes (it's a factory procedure to at least the 90's).

Yes that looks like a completely different formula from the previous one they were using.

229.3 is still a good spec along with the VW and Porsche spec. The 229.5 and LL01...
