Extended warranty - worth it?

My original new car warranty doesn't run out for another 2 years, but if I buy the 3 year extended warranty now, it is $4k instead of $7k later.

What do you think, is it worth it?

Yep, the one that I am looking at is a 40d not a 35d.
The owner says that it is 8 speed.
I just didn't want to fly up to QLD from SA and find that it isn't the 8 speed.

I did a search and found conflicting information, but my guess is that they all are.
can anyone confirm this?
I am looking at a used 40d which was built in March 2010.
