When I put my x5 in reverse, it initially kicks in for a second the disengages.

If I hit the gas immediately after putting it in reverse it will push the x5 back...

I tried two different styles of the plumbers shower sockets and neither worked for me.

I want to switch the solenoids from one side to the other to test something out.

Could also be something failing with your clock spring. Imagine if the ribbon cable within the clock spring got bound up for some reason while turning.

I ended up taking the cover off of the air pump...

I ended up taking the cover off of the air pump housing and jumped two wires. That caused for the pump to kick off right away and then I removed the wire after about 30 seconds and the pump kept...
