I agree it is only for noise ! the m performance exhaust does not have the flap if i can recall! I also have the dinan tune and my car has been pretty solid!

get a metal zip tie and it will hold it open for a little better sound! i did it to mine with 30miles on it now i have 30K no issues at all

low speed brake grinding noise

I have 26k on a 2013 x5 just had oil change where they did a bunch of stuff including brake fluid! also rear brakes were done 2000 miles earlier!

the noise does not occur at every stop just slow...
