I took a look at our estimates from a while back...

I took a look at our estimates from a while back for the oil pan gasket job.

Our local BMW dealership estimates while getting inspected:

April 2022: $4,150.16

September 2021: $3,722.00

Nothing better than doing DIY on these to save ourselves thousands of dollars. But this is one job I think is better handled by a professional with a lift.

There is a screenshot posted here from BMW TIS that explains the section 1 hose must be replaced with the pump. Based on my reading, the hose blockage here at section 1 causes the pump seal to fail....

12/2022 update, we are back up to 17.1 MPG after replacing the fuel transfer pump. Previously the mileage was really bad, down to 16.4 MPG for quite some time.
