It still most likely picked up some dirt while it was out:( I would swap it if I were you. If the filter is new all you would have to do is drain and refill a few times over the course of a few days....

A drain would have caused issues ahead of the complete failure. As the others stated its just worn out. Some batteries last longer than others.

Thanks, it has 101k on it. Our 02 had 170k on it and I feel like it had tons of life left. I read up on the horror stories of the 4.8i but nothing scared me enough not to trade up:thumbup:
