Looking from the front of the engine, there are the three pipes running through the firewall. Only the middle pipe is hot. The left and right ones are not hot to touch...

I like the sound of that. Will pull out the old one to confirm part number and order a replacement. Might solve a few other gremlins too. Seems like recoding should be pretty easy.

Bearing replaced with the OEM FAG one. Cleaned...

Bearing replaced with the OEM FAG one. Cleaned the connectors on the sensor and swapped out the sensor……no more lights on my dash. I now have an AWD car again, with ABS.

I replaced the alternator and all seems good so far. It does occasionally still make a clunk and flash the battery and oil light for 1/4 a second. Will work out what is causing that one day 😬

Thanks, the car drove home (no gremlins for the roadside mechanic to diagnose - jump started fine and be errors!! It has errors 2hrs prior when I called them.
