It will be interesting to see how it sounds. I do know that the rear muffler have dual pipes into the muffler where the normal 35d & 40d have single inlets, so it must have some sort of exhaust note...

From my knowledge it has to be re-chiped, here they were uploading the the new firmware into the chip, when you sell the car they offered to put the orginal firmware back in.

You can get your X5 diesel re-chipped, there are few companies that do it, I don't think anyone uses a chip interface box with there X5's.

Just checked the BMW site in the United Kingdom (UK) and the X5M V8 is 59k Pounds and the M50d is 60k Pounds base price.

So thats very interesting to have the M50d as the more expensive car?

Yes your right, all AD does is tighten the electronic/hydraulic sway bar, X5's do not have EDC like on the M3 which stiffens the shocks.

I don't know what your worried about, you have 3 years warranty, when it breaks they fix it and you get a lone car. Sometimes its hard to fix a problem if the workshop computer is telling the tech's...
