It was the CVT system. One of the caps was not...

It was the CVT system. One of the caps was not sealed properly, disassembled and reassembled and the noise went away. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Random Vacuum Hose?

Can anyone tell me what this hose is attached to?
Doesn’t seem logical for i to be there?

Ok. Thanks. Replaced the water pump 3 months ago when we did the coolant pipe fix. Could be a bad part though.

Gets louder with revs

No codes, engine runs fine except the noise

Hi All

Wife is out of town with our 2009 X5 4.8. 125k

Engine started making this noise.

Doesn’t seem to be belt related

Same if Ac is on or off

Thanks for sharing! Can you explain how you were able to pop the actuator to open the door? I have the same issue but on the rear drivers door.
